I'm breaking from the silence (back-blipping film photos when the roll's finished mode), to rave about a brilliant artwork that went up today, in an underpass very close to my work. Only discovered it had all been installed, whilst on my way back to work from a lunchtime Blipping mission, with an ancient film camera. After work, I headed back with a digital camera, for this Blip.
The artwork comprises over a thousand photographs, of varying ages, the majority being fairly recent. Most of the subjects are the residents (past and present) of the associated street that the underpass runs into - Innes Street, in Inverness. Obviously, as a photo enthusiast, my opinion is biased! But nearly everyone passing by was stopping to have a good look at the images. General consensus was very good.
Back in January, it looked like this. And here's an article about the project, with a rough idea of how they hoped it would look. A few of the photos used are here, on Facebook (no login required).
No doubt this will re-appear in later Blips. Must head back with a wider-angled lens...
(Edit: Just noticed that last year's Blip from this date, is of what's at the far end of the underpass!)
