Ring Neck Dove

Found strolling down the middle of the road in semi darkness last night.
I stopped the car & went to catch him.
I wondered what I could put him in as I was in the car, finding a Plantpot & saucer I bought earlier in the boot where I'd forgotten to unload. Handy, popped the bird in the pot & put the saucer on top.
We continued on our journey, but when I got home I unloaded the Pots, organised Smoochi's Dog carrier that is usually in the car; newspaper down, water & food & left him to settle down for the night.
I took this photo of him this morning after calling the WRAS & leaving a message about the welfare of the bird.
