Santtu
The tugboat M/S Santtu has had a chequered past. She was launched in 1894 (as S/S Bomba) and has served both in the Imperial Russian and the Finnish Navy (as S/S Santahamina). In 1938 she ended up in private hands (as S/S Santtu). In 1949 her steam engine was replaced with a four-times-more-powerful diesel engine; thus she turned into M/S Santtu.
In the year 1981 she became a museum ship in Pori, Western Finland. I shot her in beautiful Reposaari, an old fishing community – a place to see if you visit Western Finland.
