More pumpkins
I am much happier about posting pumpkin pictures now Halloween is over! The green pumpkin is now finished. I will photograph it tomorrow for my own records and then chop is up for soup or something ;) The orange pumpkin is not finished yet. I'm sure it'll last another day!
Today I made the first batch of soup of the season. Pumpkin, of course! It was a little weak sadly but I think with some cream and extra seasoning it ought to be ok. There's lots of it anyway... it smelt amazing while it was cooking! Charley was lucky enough (and I was!) to get a sleep in the meitai on Steve. He slept ages!
This afternoon we walked into town to get the next instalment of lego. We took umbrellas as it has been very VERY windy and rainy overnight, sounded stormy although we didn't look out, and the rain was on and off all morning. This afternoon, with our umbrellas ready: not a drop. Bought Ben some winter trousers, they are snowproof (there's hope for you) as well as the lego, then headed straight to our friends' house for fireworks and food.
And this evening Ben wanted to go to sleep on the sofa again and I kind of like getting them off to sleep this way so once he was snoring and Charley was asleep and they'd been transferred to their evening's sleeping places (Ben to bed, and Charley to Steve) I got on with carving again. It's very therapeutic. I may actually have to buy some more bits of lino. My friend who I said I'd lend them to may or may not actually get to play with my lino cutters after all :-/
