The watermill...
Woke up to torrential rain in the NE this morning, with no sign of it letting up so we decided to take The Pet Shop Boys' advice and 'Go West'......
So a most beautiful trip from Northumberland to Cumbria...with a wave to Shaaamie as we passed Allendale....and then a map check for a National Trust property in the area.
Well we were not disappointed....we came across Acorn Bank near Penrith.... and what a treat of a find.... with such contrasting weather to that we'd left behind.
This watermill was built in the 13th century, and the good volunteers of the NT have got it working again, producing a bag of flour in ten minutes!
Good to be home but a tired old Hector this evo....
Work and Camera Club tomorrow but hope for some me/you time this week!!!!!
Thank you again for all your kindness.......you guys!!!!!! :D xxxx
