No Place like Home
Bob dog knows we're almost home. We're in the neighborhood. One right turn onto Oxford Street and we'll be facing our Trenton Avenue driveway. In this photo all you can see of Bob is his ear, but he KNOWS that we are almost home. During the 7 hours in the car today, part of the time he slept on my lap and part of the time he slept on the floor by my feet, but as we got close to home, he sat up with great anticipation that home was just around the corner. To see more of his adorable ear, you can look here and here.
This morning at approximately 9:00 we said our goodbyes and made our exit from Santa Cruz, the lovely beach house, and my big sis, who we had spent the week with. Our car was packed floor to ceiling--ridiculous the amount of stuff we take with us to vacation. My sis followed us to Highway 1 where we turned south and she turned north. Then we headed out through the farmland of Watsonville and Hollister to get to Highway 5 which is the direct route toward Los Angeles in Southern California.
I took exactly 200 photos coming home. A couple are worth keeping, but this one with Bob's ear and proof that he's excited to be nearing home, seemed apropos for the end of this lovely vacation/holiday excursion. We had selected a "pet friendly" beach house just so that he could go with us and my sister's dog, Razzie, could be there too.
We are glad to be at our "Edge of Forever" home and in this Circle City of Corona tonight. We are thankful for days to vacation, days to play, days to reflect, days to revive, day to rest, days to admire the wonder of creation, days with a front row seat on doing nothing.
Thank YOU to everyone who has followed our journey since January 21st and given such encouraging and confirming comments. All I have is a cheapie camera, but this world of blip is allowing me to capture the wonder of life and realize that life's simplicity is amazing and certainly worth recording.
Good night from Southern California,
Rosie, aka Carol (Mr. Fun and Bob dog)
P.S. And on the 29th of the month I missed telling you why it is my second favorite number, right after the 17th. So now I'll have to wait till March.
