Kingfisher

It has been ages since I saw a kingfisher at the estuary so when an acquaintance informed me this morning she had seen 3 together, I decided to go and look for myself.

During the first half of the walk there was no sign of a kingfisher, and very few other birds too. But, on the way back to the car, sitting on an old dead tree beside the water, was the bird I was looking for.  I got in one shot before it flew away across the estuary.

Unfortunately it was a front view shot so you don't get to see the beautiful greens and blues of the back view.

But it was good to have seen one.
