Figure of eight

I have a good collection of larvae I am raising at the moment, including 4 of these interesting larvae of the figure of eight moth Diloba caeruleocephala, which is an autumnal moth which is on the wing late in the year in October and November. The interesting grey and yellow larvae feed on hawthorn, blackthorn and apple although these don't seem very keen on any of it!
I have added a shot of a beautiful female Pale tussock moth Calliteara pudibunda  as my extra, I blipped a much plainer and darker male on may 6th, this female is much paler with really beautiful markings. I have popped her in a pot with some oak leaves, maybe she will leave me some eggs.....
