Chipmunk

We went up Mount Holyoke today for the first time this spring; it's in Skinner State Park, which opened only two days ago. It was nearly 10 a.m., distinctly later than ideal, and and we saw relatively few birds, all of them flitting through the trees. Disappointing, to say the least.  I did glimpse this chipmunk, but only briefly. ( This is the second image I've posted--the fur at the base of his back looked much stranger in the first image.)  We'll go for a group walk at Fort River tomorrow--starting at 7:00; there should be more birds that early.
