It is Friday
Last night a new sound came to Burgundy's Wine Bar, the awesome sound of the Joe Montague Quartet. But it was a wild and stormy night and we did not have many of the usual crowd - they missed out on a great night.
Joe Montague himself is on the far right - drummers have to be content in being at the back so I brought him forward! On the far left is Jannis Pavlidis with his magical guitar solos - he had clocked my sketching because at the end he came over with saying "where is it then?". Also fronting the gig is Ben Lomond on tenor sax with the most incredible improvisations. And tucked in at the back, suffering from jetlag, is Maxwell Sterling on double bass and who was clearly having a great gig - or was still high!.
And these guys had come all the way from Leeds - a couple of hours away - we appreciate that and we look forward to their return.
And to top the night "Watercolour Will" took first prize in the raffle and I now look forward to taking Sheil to Pumkins for a meal - the best retaurant in town.
