Hellooooooo

I was sitting at our desk this morning when a loud noise started coming through the nearby window. Recognising the sound, I gingerly moved towards it. On the window ledge was this Hoopoe. They are notoriously shy, but this one sat for a while while I found my phone and grabbed a picture. It seemed less worried about us, than calling to its chicks. We did not see them, but they must have been close by. Not long now before they migrate away. Bye till next year.
