Zoo Poo

A very important morning down at 'The Allotment' - see extra for on-site notice, and the relevant e-mail excerpt follows ...

... "the committee is arranging delivery of some 'garden gold' or manure from Edinburgh Zoo. This is well rotted manure (1year old) from hoofed animals at the Zoo. They have too much and have offered it to us - the arrival time is between 9am and 10am on Tuesday 15th May. It's £1 for 3 barrow-loads, with a 9 barrow limit, all to cover transport costs."

I have never seen such *high* excitement over manure - it was nearly all gone by mid-afternoon!

Thankfully, I was able to get there early, and the allowed 9 barrow-loads are duly stored at our plot - see main snap ...

... good crops are now surely all but guaranteed ;-)
