Actually managed to do the Portland round trip in less than 24 hours.  It's not much fun but it can be done when necessary.

The cranes in the Lloyd and Convention Center districts where all is busy busy with build.  The new Convention Center Hotel is coming along really fast.

Delay-free flight back to SFO and home in time for supper with hubby and Naboo, which was momentarily interrupted by a small earthquake.  Naboo headed right under the coffee table.   Where we are it was like a bump, as if something enormous had been dropped.  I guess that’s maybe the difference of being on bay mud and in a concrete building?  Friends in the city in old wooden buildings reported it differently.
