Wimbledon Park: Spitz Spat
More aggressive/defensive (take your pick) in large.
Extra: That same Allium (previously blipped here)
According to this dog's owner (who appeared almost two minutes after this interaction started, with two other unleashed dogs...), this swan was attacking her dog (which had approached, menaced, barked, and lunged at the preening bird). The owner then warned the nearby parent-with-infant (who had been hand-feeding the swans peacefully) about the dangerous aggression of the swans, and stormed off in a huff. No permanent damage done, but I think that both non-human animals involved were victims (of potential predation, negligence, and stupidity)... Part of a series of five shots (right from here).
I went to Wimbledon Park with the macro mounted, but the wind made invertebrate/flower macro less enjoyable than anticipated, so I mostly spent time with the birds... I enjoyed photographing the mallards jumping out and splashing in, and photographing flapping tufted ducks, greylags, preening mallards, and swan plumage up close.
