Mountain Village Festival

This is a traditional festival held in small villages around my area in Japan.
It is to pray for good harvest and has about 700 year history, passed over generations.

People wearing masks danced around the fire, the crowd joined too.

In this pic, men are doing fire performance along traditional drums called Taiko behind them----It was the finale of the festival.

There're many different traditional festivals run by local people all around Japan, passing over generations.
