A cultural day.
A visit to Tolpuddle and the Martyrs museum. An horrific thing to happen to those brave souls, who stood up for the right to be able to support their families, when the outgoings were more than their income, from the local landowners, that they worked for. We should all be thankful for their efforts and as a life-long union member myself, I certainly am.
From there, we went to Clouds Hill; Lawrence of Arabia's quiet retreat. Very spartan, but it was just how he wanted it.
He was killed, near there, when he crashed his Brough Superior motorbike, swerving, to miss a delivery boy, on his push-bike.
Later we went to Moreton, to see his grave, in a quiet spot, in the local cemetary.
A very thoughtful day.
