Pompeii

Up early for Pompeii this morning - so much traffic in Sorrento and on the road towards Naples .
We only had 2 hours to savour Pompeii but it was just enough in the heat . I wasn’t prepared for how moved I would feel when I saw the preserved body of a young woman with her dress still hitched up round her body as she died .
It’s the little details which show the Hunan reality of it like this little cart and the tracks we saw on one of the roads .
I liked the house of the dawn with its gardens .
We went to the Archaeological Museum in Naples after lunch - flagging by then but loved the frescoes and the glass - the cheetah was from one of the houses .
