Italian Tank...
This morning we visited the Musee Des Blindes.
The current Mrs Mart was disappointed to discover not a window covering in sight... instead it was a tank museum, full of big boys toys. I loved it.
Alongside the German Panzers, the American Sherman and British Churchill, they had this Italian tank.
Yes it is a Vespa scooter, and yes that is a 75mm gun fitted to it.
Now I am no expert, but I guess that this is why the Italians did not have a great deal of success during the war...
We later visited a massive underground cave complex where they grew mushrooms. I think it featured 15 caverns of mushrooms, which was to my mind about 14 too many.
Tomorrow we drive back to Calais. The French are rather curious in that they mainly do not signpost the speed limit. They find it more convenient to inform you what the speed limit is NOT. For example, a 70 crossed out with no clue as to what speed you can go. Any I suppose, as long as it is not 70!
It also appears that the average French driver finds it difficult to navigate curves. French roads are generally very straight. If they do find it necessary to deviate (perhaps to circumnavigate around a vineyard) you will find copious warning signs warning you to relent and only go at 50 rappels around what we would consider a slight bend.
Now that is not to say that our Gallic friends lack le courage, after all - have you seen their electrics, plugs and wiring....
I had better go pack La voiture, and remove my tongue from my dents.
