Melanie and I took Brooklyn and Fluffy out on a walk to run some errands. I had to return a super overdue book to the library and Melanie wanted to buy a bone or paw-shaped cake pan for Brooklyn's 3rd birthday (on Nov 11th)! We were disappointed to find that the Craft center was closed due to Sandy and most of Crossbay Blvd was out of power, gas, and every store/restaurant was closed.

It brought me back to reality about the damages this storm caused. I am blessed that my house and neighborhood went virtually unscathed but that's not the case for the rest of NYC. I'm looking to volunteer this weekend to help with Hurricane Relief, because no one should be without the comfort of a home, electricity, water, food, gas and other necessities.
