The Icelandic Front

The weather channel has been issuing dire forecasts about a depression from Iceland bringing unstable, cold air. It hadn't arrived when we left the Casentino and were briefly held up by forestry operations (through the blurring windscreen) on the Caiano road. But by the time we have arrived at Pisa airport dark skies and lashing rain was the order of the day.

By the time I got back to Strada two hours later the mountain Tuscan village looked more like something you'd encounter in the Highlands in May (see extra).
