Charing Cross Station
WEDNESDAY
Today's highlight was a tour of the disused areas of Charing Cross Station including two Jubilee Line platforms abandoned in 1999 and various tunnels, escalators and ventilation shafts that are normally out of bounds to the general public.
The striking green decor of the Jubilee Line Platform (main blip) dates back to 1977 when the line was opened by HRH Prince Charles. The formica ceiling tiles were removed following the Kings Cross fire and have not been replaced.
These areas of the station are regularly used by film and TV companies - recent productions include Dr Who, Sherlock, Skyfall, Bourne Identity and Paddington 2 to name but a few.

A busy evening with two free bars and visits to a couple of galleries.
