Something completely different
This evening we went with several club members to the new facility in Stirling for curling. The new curling hall is in the same building as the original one, but as far as I know, curling there is finished for the season, but this facility is open all year round as it the home of the Scottish curling team. This hall is smaller with only four lanes. I'm not an ice technician, but I think this makes it easier to keep the ice at an even temperature. The ice was certainly very good i.e. the stones ran quickly and there was a "big swing" on the ice, making it easier to draw into the centre. I was keen to try curling again after my spinal operation. All went well andwe had a good time.
