Pigeon Crees, Dunston

Keeping pigeons to race was once a very popular pastime in industrial areas of the UK in the nineteenth and early twentieth century.  Maybe it's not so popular now but you still see pigeon crees around.  It's always fascinated me how the birds find their way home.
