Getting there..

There seem to be cranes everywhere you look in Edinburgh these days.

Not only are there several on the site of the new development on Leith St, but there are also some on the other side of Calton Hill where this new office block is being constructed on a sensitive site in the Old Town.

Behind the building is half of the first new civic space in this part of Edinbugh for a long time - Sibbald Square , named after one of the founders of Edinburgh’s original Physic Garden, the fore runner of the Botanics. It was established at Holyrood, not very far down the Royal Mile and a re-creation of it is also planned.
