Sunset at Thursley

From the old English for Thor’s lea (clearing). We went to Thursley common for a stroll this evening and it would have been lovely were it not for the mosquitoes that ate us alive. We got to Colin’s field to find that we’d just missed him but hopefully we’ll get chance to catch him at the weekend. We also saw a Dartford warbler, a kestrel, some jays, rabbits and a blackbird, and heard various cuckoos, one of which would have been Colin.
