Puriri Moth

Tucked away in the central  city fringe suburb of Eden Terrace, this utility box was decorated by Kate Millington and Petra Leary in 2016.

The Puriri moth is a large and beautiful moth, with dramatic markings. It looks to me as though the artists have chosen to reference the foliage around the box rather than provide a faithful rendition of the markings on a moth. I like that approach

(This photo was taken on my first nearly real run in many weeks. Mostly I have walked more than run, and stopped many times for photos. Today I ran much more than walked and felt okay throughout and at the end.)
