The Pompom Flowers

On Friday I work lunch and night, so today I set off a bit early to get a blip before I started work. I went in the Arboretum and looked at the flowers as it is Flower Friday!

I did used to know what these are, but I have forgotten. I like them because as buds, they look like pom-poms, and they are pretty when they open up too!

There will only be Lee and I at work tonight. Usually there are three on a Friday. We are not bothered though as the third person we have had lately causes more work and stress than not having anyone!

This weekend there will be a feast of Rugby League on the TV, as it is Magic Weekend, where all the teams play their matches in one venue at Newcastle at a festival-type occasion. Every year we say we are going to go next year. I really hope we will!! But this year we will have to make do with watching it on TV.

I just wish they had had the foresight not to do it on FA cup final weekend, as I would have quite liked to watch that too!
