A Giant Fungus

Mrs madwill’s birthday today - sadly she has been at work! She did have plenty of cards and gifts to open before she went.

Yesterday we had a very nice afternoon tea at Hazlewood Castle with our daughter and granddaughter - served in the library! Granddaughter thought it was magical - especially when a ‘secret’ door in the book case opened and people came through! Then we went for a little wander around the grounds to walk off some of the cake.

Tonight, all being well,  Mrs madwill and I will be heading off for a curry!

I found this giant fungus - Dryad’s saddle - in the woods. It is over 30cm (12”) across. In previous years there has been lots of this fungi on a particular fallen tree, but this year there has been none there and this is the only one I have seen.
