Into the light

On a long walk in the sunshine, I was struck by how quiet everywhere was - very few people about and very little traffic. I wonder why?

The extra is a mono version of this image. I preferred the colour version as the golden semi-circle made me think of  a head of hair and the two patches of green look like earrings. Is it only me that thinks it looks just like Wendolene in the Wallace and Gromit  films?
