North Berwick Law from Portobello Beach

Today a friend took me to Portobello where she picked up some Christmas cards for a fair trade stall she runs at church and then we went to a cafe - the Beach House - on the promenade, where we had excellent coffee and pecan cake with tea/coffee. We were amazed at how early the light seemed to be changing - this picture was taken at 3pm.

It was great to be out and about! I overdid things one day last week after the hip replacement which I had six weeks ago and that more or less confined me to home again for a week. It seemed like back to the beginning, which I didn't take to very well as I had just been enjoying getting more mobile again and feeling better than before my operation. Maybe it's taught me a valuable lesson!
