My Poor Dead Chipmunk

We were gone for nearly 6 full days. On our return, I found this poor chipmunk dead in the garage. It had become our pet and had lived under the garage floor all winter. This spring, it made a new burrow (part of the old, I assume) right under one of several birdfeeders. It led the good life, but died when I inadvertently locked it in the garage while we were gone. It is buried under the flowering apple tree right close to its entrance. I assume there were babies left behind, but after the fact, I cannot do anything about it.
