Weigela

It must be three or four years ago that I took cuttings of a big Weigela shrub at the old house. All three cuttings took root, but this is the first year that one of the resulting bushes has flowered. Was chuffed to bits when I spotted the beautiful pink-and-crimson blooms.

After a blue-skied start first thing, a thick sea fog swallowed the sun, and it's grown steadily cooler and greyer ever since.
