Which Side of the Fence?

The deer is actually on the outside of the fence as it is used to separate the condo complex where we are staying in Florida from the outside world and the wildlife.  The deer was eating leaves and sometimes just stared at me as I stood about 50 feet away.  As you can see, the AF  on the camera tended to find the fence.  I was afraid to try to walk to the fence to put the camera through a gap as the deer likely would have thought me aggressive.
