The Historic Hearth

This morning I was quite cold on the way home, so popped into the Fort St George on Midsummer Common for a cup of coffee and a warm by the fire. Although a historic pub, it has been refurbished beyond recognition. The old dark beams have been replaced with lighter wood and the atmosphere is not the same. It is more about the food now. However, I enjoyed the coffee and a few minutes by the fire.
