TAKING A BREATHER
These two often stop for a rest at the bench in the square, usually on a Monday. A few minutes after they moved on today the mowers came along and got rid of all those daisies and dandelion heads.
B had words with our recently-moved-back-in-after-18-mostly-peaceful-months neighbour today. The skunk he habitually smokes (having previously told us various versions, including that it's a tiny bit of cannabis with "an anti-cancer agent added". Come on, mate, we weren't born yesterday!) pervaded the house to such an extent last night that it woke both of us up in the small hours and I haven't been able to get the smell out of my nose all day, despite having all the windows open. I think it's just about gone. He's promised to be more considerate about where in the house and when he smokes, but I'm not sure the two go hand in hand. The house belongs to his Mum, of whom he's terrified, and he knows we have her mobile number so we have some clout, but I wish he'd stop or move back out.
