Day at the Shore

As in ‘the Jersey shore’, aka Belmar, New Jersey USA. For some reason while other cities along the East Coast Atlantic Ocean are called ‘beaches’, New Jersey’s beaches have always been referred to as ‘the shore’. When my now 20+ year old great-nephew was 10, it always made his Mom smile when he announced he was ‘going to the shore with Aunt Audie’, because his friends (who parents took them to the ‘beach’) would ask ‘where you goin?!?’
So today (that explanation finally aside!), my friend and I took our ride to ‘the shore’ to purchase our Season badges. Belmar is great - $15 for Seniors - vs $9 daypass. So we enjoyed this beautiful sky and sunshine and breezy clear weather and a lovely lunch at an outdoor cafe. Wonderful day.
