I got a pass into this exclusive place by virtue of going to see the preview of a film about Syriac Christian refugees from Syria living in a monastery in Beirut: the oldest Christian grouping, still speaking Aramaic.

The story was billed as being about a 14-year-old lad who was learning to play the violin - very well - by watching a violinist playing Paganini on YouTube. But the violinist did not give permission for the YouTube footage to be used so we had to wait for the Q&A with the film-maker to learn that story. She is an ex-music student from Queen's College so - abracadabra Oxford University - was able to get a good violin lent to him long term.
