Lucky Day
I had just set up my camera outside when I spotted this Pileated Woodpecker fly into a tree. I froze, held my breath, and hoped he would visit the feeder, which was about 20 feet from me. Sure enough, he landed on the suet. Ideally I should have backed off on my lens, but I knew if I moved at all, he would be gone. I got about 30 shots before he had his fill and flew away. It was definitely a lucky day.
