Across the Water
We set off from our overnight stay in Laon to drive home. We took a brief turn off the main route and stopped at Vaucelles where we saw this typically French view of the Saint-Quentin canal. Then it was back to the job of getting to Calais. Travelling on Tuesday meant little traffic and quick to jump on a train for the tunnel. Of course, arriving back in the UK was the usual shock of driving on the left again and the sheer volume of traffic compared with mainland Europe.
After dinner with Rosie, it was camera club tonight and the end of our Winter season, my last night as chairman after 2 years. Certificates and the challenge cup were handed out alongside a fabulous ploughman's supper. A good end to a fun and successful season.
