Common nighthawk

Today we pulled up at the car park at Fort Pickens, on the Gulf Islands National Seashore in Florida, and saw three of these amazing nocturnal birds flying above us, noisily displaying. One came so close to S she could feel the rush of air from its wings. It was hot and sunny so I don't know what this was all about.
