Purple Sandpiper
Calidris maritima. I was dropped by the wee Octo bus north of Evie village and made my way down to the shore of Eynhallow Sound. A beautiful sunny day here, though with a chill in the air. The tide was quite high which made walking the shore a bit slippery. Near the Burn of Woo, I came across a big mixed flock of purple sandpiper and turnstone with a solitary knot. A few grey seals floating off-shore and about two hundred cormorant too.
I had sharper shots, but I like the water drops in the air in this one.
