Daytona International Speedway

Took a tour in a tram today around the track at Daytona International Speedway, and also visited the museum and other exhibits at the massive racing complex.  The photo above is a view from the track apron looking up the 31 degree slope of the track in a turn.  The black letters  near the top spell DAYTONA on the upper wall.  We were told that unless you are going at least 70 mph, the car will slide down the slope in the curves.  Of course, that't not a problem in the race as speeds reach 200 mph.  Even what appears on TV to be flat on the straight away that includes the start and finish lines is sloped.  From where I took the photo to the top of the wall above is equivalent to a 4 story building.
