A walk to the cemetery
In the morning F did some fishing (unsuccessfully) and I began to do a walk. It would have involved a lot of clambering and jumping muddy rivulets so I cut it short. I ate an ice cream then pottered around on the beach instead.
When F had finished, we went for a late afternoon walk along the shore to an old cemetery. We had found the walk in a book and it looked a good one.
The rocks were amazing shapes and there were cliffs and beautiful displays of wild flowers on one side with the sea on the other. There were two caves to look at too.
The path got more and more difficult as we had to climb over rocks and it was quite tricky in places.
Eventually we got to this lovely old cemetery surrounded by a wall with a lot of different shades of green on the gravestones from the lichen. Behind it was a beautiful dell with trees, ferns and flowers.
F sat down and perused the map to try to get to the road to save the tricky walk back.
He found a route and we continued along the path then through a couple of fields and got to the road. We sat on a wall for a moment and F realised that he’d left his jacket in the cemetery!
He retraced his steps while I went to fetch the car. It was a much longer and steeper road than I had remembered and was glad to get to the car park.
I picked up F with his jacket and we returned to the cottage to relax!
