Mixed Feelings

This is where I used to come after I dropped my husband into St Vincents Hospital for his chemotherapy. I would sit here having coffee and thinking about him and feeling anxious.

So when I come here now I have mixed feelings.

I love this place. That expanse of Dublin Bay with views of the 2 chimneys to misty blue Howth over to Dun Laoghaire and that huge sky. I hope this pic does justice to the sky because it is really special today. Can you pick out my coffee and cake on the bench?

I have no work today and have been here for a while and walked out in my waterproof shoes into that blue yonder.

My love, I hope you are up there doing some celestial gardening, smashing those clay pigeons (and ticking if you miss one) and having those endless conversations about taking an engine out of one car/van/truck and putting it into another car/van/truck and wondering could you make it go like a ‘hot snot’ (his favourite Wicklow expression meaning very damn fast).
