It was too much to hope for that this roebuck wouldn't clock I was there sitting hunkered down on the wet grass by the chickens in the garden. He had been busy eating the hawthorn but could have been spooked by Poppy sneaking up to me although she was so quiet and well behaved that it could possibly have been the camera shutter.

Beautiful sight in the field today and so pleased we have a deer back. About time!
