The Farm on the Ridge ...

... will be almost buried in snow in a couple of months and the road from where this was taken will be a superb cross country ski piste. This is the Col de la Croix farm and it gets the sun as soon as it appears over Les Diablerets (the mountain in the background) but only for a couple of hours in the depth of winter. The ski pistes opened on Les Diablerets glacier today and the snow posts marking the roads are out. I even used the snow tyres, in earnest, to get this photo.
