Of Joy
These little daisies are growing in a gutter next to one of the village streams. They are surrounded by concrete and dirt but some how they thrive and hopefully make passers-by pause and smile. I guess they set an example to us all.
A busy week just trying to keep on top of work, gardens and houses, and life in general. Andy's mum has had another fall and this time has broken her hip (her wrist is still in plaster from her last fall) so she is now back in hospital. Her cat remains at home needing to be fed and watered. Andy's son is still struggling deciding what he wants to do next year.
The dog is still waking in at 5:30am so we have a new strategy in place to try to encourage him to sleep longer and make less noise once he has woken. It involves less water and more vigorous play in the evening, getting ahead of the game with him waking so we get up before he feels he needs to, let him in the garden and put him back to bed and repeat this at regular intervals but each day trying to push back the timings by 5 minutes so he is gradually getting used to getting up later.
I went to a yoga class in the village on Weds evening and it was very good - lots of relaxation and meditation - just what I needed. As we did our exercises the air outside will filled with bird song. It was beautiful. Then part way through the class a family of ducks - with several ducklings - wandered across the grass outside. The teacher called us over to the window and we stopped to watch them. How fortunate I am - a little moment of joy.
Its a long weekend (late May bank holiday) so I am hoping I might get to my allotment and to do some gardening. Wishing you all well.
