Velvet

Well wow. Used properly/under the right circumstances the Velvet lens of the LensBaby Trio is incredible. This is my neighbor's new peony. It has mites. 

I am sparing you the pictures of the gigantic spider. It was not a jumping spider, so the pictures aren't wonder at the incredible eyes mixed with feeling creeped out. It was just a giant spider that I didn't want to get too close to. 

It was a wonderful week. I accomplished things at work that I'd been having difficulty accomplishing. I wrote an article that I'd been having trouble writing and I finally nailed speakers for a web panel. My co-workers are terrific. I really like where I work. I rode the bicycle last Saturday and took two mental bricks off my shoulders. I got a new lens and played with it. 

Photography has given me the phrase, "dynamic range" and it seems like our politics has astounding dynamic range. 

Many of us have reached a point of despair, of being overwhelmed, and we can't even take it in. 

I feel like I'm fiddling while Rome burns.
