Great Train Weekend

This weekend celebrations are being held at Mt Victoria to mark the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Great Western Line.

Mt Victoria Station is very beautiful, and never more so than when a steam train appears in the cutting.
Of course, you couldn't move for all the train buffs, not to mention the photographers.
Quite a few dressed up, but none looked as good as this fellow, I thought.

It was a stunning day, with a bit of pomp and ceremony, a lot of fun and some delicious food.

You can see a small section of the crowd craning to get the best view of the 6029 departing in extras.
