to TOAST

A fabulous production at Media City’s Lowry Theatre.
‘Toast’ tells the story of chef, Nigel Slater’s upbringing and the influences food, it’s tastes and smells, had on his young life.

His mum died on Christmas Day when he was only 12 years old, and the play is funny and heartbreaking in equal measure.
Rather like when I’m watching or reading something by the writer, Alan Bennett, I hear his voice throughout, it was the same with this and throughout I heard Nigel Slater’s voice. Excellent!
